As we come to the last month of summer I can’t help but wonder why the time seems to fly by faster as we get older. Maybe it’s because we have so many things to do and not enough time to do them. That’s BS. There have always been the same amount of hours in a day as when we became a cognizant race. It’s just that there is so much more to do now than at anytime in the past. We have our cell phones to talk while we drive, we have our TVs, our computers, our video games, our work, our work at home, and so on and so on. The problem is that we don’t allow ourselves to spend part of our time doing things that really make us and the ones we love … happy. We can find more ways to waste a day and then rationalize it than just doing something for even a little while that brings a smile to our faces and to others. We need to slow down a little, take a break every now and then and do something fun. Instead of watching TV or working for someone else while at home, take off and go to the zoo or the park. Preferably with someone you love but even by yourself is OK. Just go and do something that you enjoyed doing as a kid. It’s OK to be a child again every once in a while. In fact it’s downright healthy.

So the next time you wonder where the time went…wonder instead of what you did to waste some of it on something that will be forgotten tomorrow.

Peace

Like many of you I have been looking for something in my life, maybe it’s meaning, maybe something that will fulfill my desire to be more than I am today…I really don’t know what I was looking for until I watched “The Secret” and then read the book. Now it’s not the answer to everything that I have been searching for, but it left me with the feeling that whatever I was missing in life, I could find it if I truly believed that I could.

So I got a Gratitude rock, I tried to think positive about things. I thought about being wealthy, healthy and happy. I really tried to “channel” all those things that the book and the DVD talked about and it was an absolute flop.

The problem is that there is so much negativity surrounding us that it is impossible to actually believe that if one thinks positive thoughts about something then whatever your thinking about will come to pass. Now, I do believe that if one could control their thoughts well enough then whatever they are thinking of will happen, but it is way beyond most of us to have that kind of concentration. You would have to be really, really special to get achieve that level of inner control. I don’t have it and readily admit that I don’t have it, I’m just an ordinary person who wants more out of life.

And please don’t talk to me about religion, I believe in a Supreme Creator, but not in any of the books written by men and then having those people in power decide which books fit with their beliefs and which ones to throw out. Sorry, but I won’t get into that. I want to be able to control my own destiny and I believe that I can if I could get some help in being able to concentrate positively about my desires.

I’ve read a lot of books on positive thinking and they help but I still fall back into my old habits, especially when someone cuts me off in traffic or when nothing seems to go my way. Then I found Bob Proctor and after reading about his works on the Law of Attraction (the basis of “The Secret”) and the fact that there are 11 other Laws that must work in harmony in order to make this come together something clicked. No, I did not become rich overnight, nor have I lost 80 pounds, but I am starting to really feel better about myself and others. And I have been noticing that things are starting to go my way for a change. The biggest thing is that I now really believe that I can get what I want and I feel good about that. I recommend his books and CD’s for anyone who wants to make a change in their lives. If you are interested you can go to his site from here by clicking on “The Forgotten Laws” under the Self Help section. Also check out The Unexplainable Store as it has some very unique products and Ultimate Brain Power was pretty helpful as well.

Good luck on your journey of self exploration.
